Company Information: Kirsch, owned by Newell-Rubbermaid, was founded in 1907 by Charles W. Kirsch when he invented the first telescoping, flat curtain rod. This was to be the first of many innovations brought to the market by C.W. Kirsch. (See more here: http://www.kirsch.com/us/kirsch-company/history/ ) Housed under the same roof as Levolor, Kirsch also offers a quality line of blinds and shades that range from wood, vertical blinds, and aluminum blinds to roller shades and cellular shades. When you view the Kirsch product line, you will see that it is designed for a home with a more modern look. Unlike the Levolor brand, Kirsch blinds and shades are designed to be more modern and trendy. Kirsch can also be found in many retail stores, but doesn’t have quite the level of popularity that its sister company carries.
Interesting Note: In 1939 Kirsch rods were used in the movie classic, "Gone with the Wind." (What movie curtains could be better known?)
